My family and I have an apple for breakfast almost every day.
In recent years, apples are sold all year round in Japan, thanks to the advancement of preservation technology. However, apples that are available at this harvest time taste the best.
We usually buy popular kinds such as “Fuji” or “Sun Fuji”, while the one shown in the photo is “Kogyoku” (lit. red jewel, or ruby) that we recently bought. This kind seems to be known as “Jonathan” in America. We like its sweet and sour taste.
